What was the best era for the United States?

Our country is not looking so great now, but in retrospect, when was it's best/worst point?

In the early days (1776-1830) the US was just getting started and fine tuning issues with the Constitution. Also, there was the issue with encroaching upon Indian territory.

Then came the Pre-Civil War days (1831-1860). Our country was falling apart because of the difference of ecomomies in the north and south. The north was mostly cities; the south was plantations and small farms.

Civil War and Reconstruction (1861-1875). This is pretty self explanatory. The US was so divided that we had a Civil War.

The Guilded age (1876-1899). Many people moved west. Also, railroads were built.

Industrial Revolution (1900-1913). The turn of the century was a time for industrial prosperity. This gave rise to robber barons such as Rockefeller, Carnegie, and JP Morgan.

World War I (1914-1919). The US did not enter until later, but nonetheless contributed to the Treaty of Versailles, which set the framework for WWII.

The Roaring '20s (1920-1929). The economy boomed.

The Great Depression (1930-1940). The economy collapsed under Hoover. Roosevelt tried to save the US with the New Deal.

World War II (1941-1945). US wanted to stay out of the war, but was forced to when Pearl Harbor was bombed. Brought the US out of the Great Depression due to the rapidly increasing need for military supplies.

I'm going to stop there because most people are pretty familiar with the recent history. You don't necessarily need to pick one of my groups. What was the best era for the United States?
The Clinton years were good, remember when America's biggest problem was a stain on a blue dress?
Also , the 50's were good because the wealthy were paying 90% taxes.
Best era for USA is when it didn't exist!!!!!!!

The land of America is made upon the lives of 120 million native Amerians!!!!!!

No compensation for these natives!!!

Most of them living in poverty!!!

taken their land for FREE

And today America calls itself the

Land of the FREE

Land of the free my ***!!!!!!

Put the world in it's place, before it puts you in yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!What was the best era for the United States?
I would guess 1700-1850 because of the westward expansion.
The 50's. Very prosperous.
Right now, these are the good 'ole days.
The 90's for sure.
After WW2. The 50s were great.
what makes you think our best days are not ahead?
I'd say the 50's. Why ? it was before the loser hippie generation screwed the country with thier "question authority" mentality. We gained a whole lot of bad bahaviour from those pathetic losers whom only seemed to care more about thier "motto's", drugs and getting what they wanted than actually rallying together for the good of the nation.

It was also still booming from the residual effects after WW2. Not having started into the Vietnam war yet.......sure, there was the Korean war......but few seem to know much about that these days.

I say that because the old pioneer days were a hard life, most other era's during wars were also hard due to the war efforts. But anything sooner than the mid 60's introduced a rebellion of losers in America that we still suffer with today..........the mindset of entitlements, laziness, selfish persuits that harm the country.

Mid 50's was an era that was free of alot of that crap and still innocent enough that people in general had a good life.
