Would you prefer to stay in Poipu at a not so great place or Kaapa in a great place?

We are going to Kauai to get married, I have a timeshare with several options - the Kauai Coast Resort at the Beach Boy with restaurants and a spa, etc. in Kaapa (not sure that it is right in Kaapa) or in Poipu at the Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation Resort(the accommadations do not seem as good as the other in Kaapa). I would love to stay at the Grand Hyatt but have to pay for it without using my already paid for timeshare. I guess what I want to know is would you stay in Kaapa or Poipu, or are they both about the same. I like that Kaapa is equidistant to the North and South shores.Would you prefer to stay in Poipu at a not so great place or Kaapa in a great place?
We have a place in Poipu and I would highly recommend staying there. Weather year round is much better then on the East or North coast. Yes, its farther to drive to the North Coast, but you can walk to the beach from most places. If you are trying to swap a timeshare, try pulling up the Point at Poipu Beach or the Marriott at Poipu.

Kapaa will be more central and convenient, with all the shopping close by. Plus, you have a shorter drive to the airport when you leave.

I guess it also depends on what you plan on doing and where you plan on going throughout the week. If you don't have any plans to go up by Princeville, but you do want to go to Waimea Canyon and the Barking Sands area, then Poipu is actually more central.

If being centrally located and in a nicer unit is more important than actually being in a nicer (albeit more remote) area, stay in Kapaa and drive to Poipu/Brennecke/Koloa.
