I bring the following deteriorating situations in Sri Lankan Civil War to the members of the Yahoo! Answers.
1.Sinhalese and Tamils live here since time immemorial(Historians say before BCE).
2.Tamils are in North and North East and Sjnhalese are in Central and South.
3.There were kingdoms in those days.
4.Then Portuguese,Dutch and Finally British ruled.
5.During British rule in 1900s lot of Indian Tamils were taken to Central part of Sri Lanka to work in Tea plantations.
6.These plantation Indian Tamils were like slaves and stateless.
Even now they are treated different from original Sri Lankan
Tamils.
7.Sri Lanka obtained independence in 1948.
8.Sinhalese,being majority, had complete power and did not give equal status to Tamils.
9.Sri Lankan Tamils started protesting and demanding equal rights. It was a non-violence process or Gandhian approach in the beginning but gradually ended in Separatist movement.
10.The Tamil separatists took weapons and called themselves LTTE or Tamil Tigers.
11.LTTE means Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.Ealam is the name of the place they live for centuries.
12.Here Indian Tamils don't involve.
13.In 1980s there were Anti Tamil Riots which ended in migration many Sri Lankan Tamils to East and West.
14.Some Northern and Eastern parts were under the control LTTE till last year.(Since 1983)
15.Sri Lankan Army started capturing all these places.
16.LTTE started moving towards VANNI and people also went with them fearing army's anger.
!7.As per today's report they are all confined to just 14 square kilo meters and population is around 200,000.
!8.Army is still using fire power to disarm the countable Tigers.
!9.But a lot of children, women, elderly people either die or get injured. There is no food, good water, medicines.
20.UN and world communities have requested to stop the war but the warring groups don't listen.
So Tamil diaspora have started protesting in the countries they live. But still world communities don't take any stringent actions.
It results in innocent civilians death or injury.
Something has to be done before it is too late.Who is going to help Sri Lankan Trapped Tamils in War Zone?
The fact is that, despite being a long-running problem, Tamil issue didn't get much international attention. First, they wanted India to solve this problem, but then Sinhalese protested Indian involvement in their land, India turned against LTTE, %26amp; LTTE killed Rajeev Gandhi - thus ending Indian intervention in this problem. Then the Tamils turned towards Norway( who has minimal effect internatinally) %26amp; LTTE(a totalitarian organization %26amp; declared as terrorist group by UN) to solve the problem. If Tamil ppl %26amp; politicians relied less on LTTE(even after UN declared them as terrorists) %26amp; tried to gain attention of international community, UN would have take this problem much more seriously.Who is going to help Sri Lankan Trapped Tamils in War Zone?
wouldn't it just be better if the Tamils go to Tamil Nadu and try to survive there, where hopefully won't be persecuted for who they are
well actually the no the answer to this question is not simple because then the problem might be solved already
just pray i guess
