I mean its one thing if any of them were alive and enslaved on a plantation, but it seems to me each generation of blacks gets worse on the reparations rants meaning you see more Charles Barrons and other such reparation ranters come into existance even with Barack Obama's election as president. At the same time however you notice none of the Blacks who whine about reparations were on a plantation enslaved and alive before the Emancipation Proclomation. My point is slavery is over like the civil war (For the record, I am equally annoyed by Southern Whites who fly the Confederate Flag as I think "You stupid rednecks lost the civil war, the North won, we have a federal government, get over it") yet lazy Blacks still complain louder with each generation that is that they deserve reparations for slavery and Im thinking it would be a much better country if it was made a felony for any of them to rant or complain about reparations. Im not talking about persecuting Blacks for being Black, Im talking about jailing those race baiting ones who complain about more reparations and other such similar BS.Do you wish it was illegal for Blacks to rant about slavery reparations?
Be careful now, you are walking a dangerously thin line there.
But, I do understand---to a certain degree---with what you are talking about. Should it be ignored that there was a period of time when slavery existed in this country? No. But I do not agree that it should be used constantly as if it is their only weapon. Practically every race on this earth was (or still is) a slave to another race. It has not, and will not end--such is the nature of humans. But instead of complaining and using it as a sole weapon, those that have been knocked down and stepped upon, should stand up, raise up and show the world that they are not animals, they are not worthless...but equal among all of God's children and inspire to do great.
As for making it illegal to complain or rant? No, that goes against freedom of speech. But perhaps, instead of feeding into the ranting and complaining and falling along step to those who would rather create chaos and stir the pot, we should just rise to our own expectations and make something great for ourselves. I know plenty of African Americans or Black families that have done just that.
Although I agree everyone deserves a representative and a voice, but I do not agree with those who are making it too easy to just do nothing with themselves and be a free-loader. That, I do not agree with. And you will find that everywhere.
yesDo you wish it was illegal for Blacks to rant about slavery reparations?
No, Free Speech %26gt; Your sensitivity.
I do not know any blacks who rant. The right to freedom of speech is one of our most important rights. They have the right to voice their opinion just as you did. Works for all.
I see your point, but the government could never get away with changing laws like that without being accused of racism, even if it's not racist.
Yes it is Just awful the way those people do that.
I wish it in such a way that I would never actually want it to come into effect, but while still agreeing with the insinuated idea.
Free speech is more important than making annoying stupid people shut up, unfortunately (damn morals get in the way of everything), but that doesn't mean I don't wish they would shut up.
Of course, I would simply wish that everyone would no longer be able to make that kind of racist comments or rants, black, white, yellow, red, green, blue or purple.
Should there even be any reparations?
Whites you've done your bit. Now it's time for some black Americans to accept the past and move on. If were such strong people, then why do some act like they haven't grown a pair?
It should stop. They who keep looking back on slavery have succeeded at making all blacks look bad. Tired or defending myself on here.
Race baiting, that is a really interesting expression, I've not heard it, but I know I have been victim of it, a black lady was trying to make a group of us (whites) feel responsible in some way for the slave trade, omg, it was so bizarre, yes it was a totally horrific thing, but in no way did my family or any part of my ancestry have anything to do with it, power tripping, I hate that.
I DO like black people however, I just wish some, the obsessed minority would chill out.
It gets really silly when white people are even afraid to mention the word black, infront of them... aarrgh
no. white people should compensate all slaves' descendants with monetary compensations and a formal apology.
Well there anscestors were tortured so I guess they should be angry, and they should be glad it is not them.
if blacks had several hundred years of free labor behind them: they wouldn't be complaining :: so stfu :: i don't rant about it: but i understand those that do :: there are big companies %26amp; other successful people out there who are still reaping the benefits of slavery today: %26amp; others who are still suffering the consequences =\
well no, for the simple fact that it wasn't even that long ago really. Yeah they abolished slavery, but blacks were still being treated unfairly, not being able to do certain things that whites were allowed to do, being tortured by the kkk and the rest of america for being black. If u think about it our grandparents and great grandparents( some still living) had to go through all that. And some times blacks are still treated unfair today. We have to go to school and watch movies and learn about how our grandparents were tortured. I think u would feel suppressed to, and I agree that it does get annoying after awhile and Im am not one of those black people who do that, but ur being COMPLETELY insensative about the situation like this happend that many generations ago. Like I said even today blacks are still treated unfairly, its not acceptable anymore, but that doesn't mean there is not a problem or blacks shouldn't voice there options about whats there, cause its there. But honestly I think black people need tol understand that they aren't the only suppressed group of people in the world and people are always going to be judgemental and racism will never completely die out there for no need to supress the issuse on more that one occassion.
I don't rant about slavery but I understand why others do rant about it.
