Any one good at U.S. history??? I need help!?

Why was Colonial North Carolina the least typical of the five plantation colonies? And what were the Unique features that made it so different from its southern neighbors?Any one good at U.S. history??? I need help!?
Historically I think I would say that what was most unique about it was its role during the Civil War, as it was one of the slave states that remained with the Union, meaning they didn't secede and join the Confederate forces. They would go on to be termed a "border state" because they, along with 3 other slave states, separated the Union and the Confederacy during the 1860s. As soon as you move south from North Carolina, you get more slave states that were about to go to war with the North. Had North Carolina and the 3 other slave states seceded and joined the South, then "Americans" likely would have lost the Civil War.Any one good at U.S. history??? I need help!?
Look for a reference book it could be useful.
