We are family of 3 soon to be 4. Looking to temporary rent a house or townhouse in the Summervile, Ladson, N. Charleston area. We currently live in West Ashley and we like it here. Need to move out and looking for affordable solution but still safe neighborhood - family, kids friendly. What do you know of Wescott Plantation, Lakes of Summerville, Summer Wood, University Park or any other you think falls in that category. ThanksWhich Summerville, Ladson, North Charleston subdivisions are safe?
I'm surprised you haven't received any comments. I lived in Charleston six years and here's my opinion. Any development in Summerville will be heads and shoulders above almost any area in N. Charleston. Just look at www.city-data.com crime rate reports. N. Charleston used to be nearly three times the national average. It's been coming down but is still way above Summerville which is below the national average. I would rather send my kids to school up in Summerville too. Ladson would be somewhere in between. You really need to look at Goose Creek. Crime rate is really low up there, under 200. I lived in N. Charleston, Charleston peninsula, West Ashley and the IOP during my stay in Charleston. Have you taken a good look east of the Cooper? I don't know where you would find information on those specific developments, but in general I would think that the farther out the better. Good luck. Charleston is still my favorite city. We live outside Spartanburg now.
