How did the North benefit from slavery?

wasn't the north industrialized and the south more plantation. was the south the only that benefited from slaveryHow did the North benefit from slavery?
The north befited from slavery because labor was very cheap and they prospered agricultarly compared to the south.
Northern middlemen bought, sold, insured, stored and shipped cotton to British mills. They then investd their profits in the booming nrthrn ecnmy; bolstering nrthrn industry. Cotton also benefitted nrthrn indstry by providing important market for textiles, agricultural tools and manufactured goods.

How did the North benefit from slavery?
i guess the south benefited from slavery, but not in a humane way. They forced people into working massive fields with no pay, and all they got was food, shelter, and the clothes on their backs. The north was against slavery. It was more humane when they only had them work for a few years, then they could leave. Of course, all that is out of my opinion.
Hmmm... the north benefits from slavery today I guess. Up north, we have a sort of superiority thing over the south, probably because we consider ourselves more humane than the southern slaveowners. It gives the north moral leverage, so when northeastern democrats want to pass prochoice abortion laws and southern republicans balk, a northener can say something like, "what right do you have to make moral decisions for me, your grandparents had slaves!"
the economy usually benefits from slavery or cheap labour like ilegal imigrants
The North benefitted from slavery, because their industrial economy was so intertwined with the agricultural South's agrarian economy. While the South had slaves, their economy was stable. When the slaves left, their economy suffered, and the North's would suffer as well.
