Why does the south get blammed for slavery when?

all of the plantation owners were from the North? Are you people misinformed, or what? It was the NORTHERNERS who came to the south, bought up land for their plantations and made their fortunes off the backs of slaves!!! 99% of the "racist" southerners couldn't afford the $1000.00 dollars it cost for a young slave. The NORHTHERN plantation owners owned tens of thousands of slaves. Get your facts straight, people!Why does the south get blammed for slavery when?
I have lived in the south and in the north. There isn't much difference in race relations either place, and I think that is what we are actually talking about here. I do not believe race relations are that bad even in the south. Yes, they had slavery, but most peoples were slaves at some point in their history. We (as humans) did a lot of things when we were less civilized, that we now know were wrong. We evolved!Race relations are blown up and distorted so the newspapers and television stations have something to report. A poor or middle class white kid is not treated ANY DIFFERENTLY than a poor or middle class black kid. It's more about RICH AND POWERFUL than it is RACE. They (the media) do not make that distinction because it doesn't help them. They aren't exactly poor, and it sells stories. The same goes for the politicians. Just because whites don't yell and riot, does not mean we have it easier. Unfortunately the dishonesty of the media and politics keeps us divided. They play mind games, and we are their pawns. Why do we let them?!

It is also a little-discussed fact that Lincoln was not against slavery. He wrote the Emancipation Proclamation to deprive plantation owners of their property (slaves) to further damage the confederate livelihood. There are many letters that Lincoln wrote that refer to the slaves as property and even the "N" word.

actually the South fought the North because the North had no right to tell the South what to do. It wasn't actually about slavery. If the North told the South they had to give up tobacco farms there would have been a civil war just the same.

And if you want to go further than that the British ,French ,Spanish Portuguese and Dutch had slaves and even the Black kings in Africa had slaves and did you know Britain invaded and enslaved the Irish and sent them to the Carribean to work.Thats why in Jamaica they are all part Irish....and one more fact only 1% of the white population at the time actually owned slaves most whites weren't plantation owners. %26gt; Also if you study Egypt you will realize that the dark skinned people owned the light skinned people. And the Moors owned out Sicily centuries ago.

Well, my family was Southern and we had 12 slaves.



But the north did own the slave ships and operate the triangle trade. That makes them just as guilty.
Lincoln was a republican. He was against slavery. All of the slave owners were democrats. But Obama is a democrat. So is he for slavery?
